Lee Jung-jae, “Squid Game Season 2? The director keeps giving spoilers… We’re now in the scenario stage”

Actor Lee Jung-jae talked about “Squid Game Season 2”.

Lee Jung-jae answered an interview ahead of the release of his movie “Hunt” somewhere in Jongno-gu, Seoul on August 3rd.

During the interview, Lee Jung-jae mentioned Netflix’s “Squid Game 2”, which has been confirmed to be in production.

When asked about the progress of “Squid Game 2”, Lee Jung-jae said, “Director Hwang Dong-hyuk even came to the afterparty of ‘Hunt’ VIP Premiere, but I didn’t ask him anything. After knowing that I would star in the work, I didn’t ask anything.”

Lee Jung-jae also said that he was looking forward to the scenario.

He explained, “I want to see Sung Ki-hoon’s feelings from the first scene to the end. The first impression is very important. There are many times when my feeling while acting on the set were different from that when I read the scenario, but I don’t ask anything because I think I might lose my first impression of the work if I get just a little information.”

He also said that he told director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who kept saying that Cheol-su and Young-hee dolls would appear in Season 2 in various interviews, not to talk about such things.

Lastly, Lee Jung-jae said, “Season 2 is being prepared very carefully. We’re now in the stage of using a treatment with a clear map to complete the scenario”.

In June, director Hwang Dong-hyuk officially confirmed the production of “Squid Game Season 2”, saying “Gi-hun returns. The Front Man returns. The man in the suit with ddakji might be back. You’ll also be introduced to Young-hee’s boyfriend, Cheol-su”, adding “Join us once more for a whole new round”.

Director Hwang Dong-hyuk also revealed in previous interviews with overseas media that he aims to unveil Season 2 of “Squid Game” on Halloween (October 31st) in 2024.
