(G)I-DLE Fans Angrily Criticize Members For Lack Of Communication

Fans are expressing disappointment towards (G)I-DLE’s members even on their the celebration of the group’s 6th debut anniversary

On May 2nd, (G)I-DLE members celebrated their 6th debut anniversary through various posts on their personal accounts. 

Minnie uploaded a group photo and a photoshoot clip with the message, “HAPPY 6TH ANNIVERSARY. Idles has turned 6 years old. I love you guys so much”. Miyeon also showed affection for her member on a special day, saying “No, I love you more”.

Miyeon then posted a group photo with the caption, “My beloved Neverlands and precious members, thank you for loving me, hugging me tightly and understanding me for the past six years. Thank you and I love you all. I’m such a happy person”.

Yuqi, who is currently promoting as a solo artist, also uploaded a dance challenge video of her new song “FREAK” on SNS and expressed her gratitude to the members with many heart emoticons. 

By sharing photos and messages on their personal channels, (G)I-DLE members have celebrated the 6th anniversary in their own ways. However, fans are showing angry reactions in various online communities. The main reason for fans’ frustration is that the members have not been active in the group’s paid communication platforms. Many fans have applied to use the service and waited for the members to interact with them, however, their dissatisfaction reached its peak because of the members’ negligent attitude even on the group’s debut anniversary.

Many fans complained, “Not to mention your lack of communication, you guys should care for the debut date”, “If you don’t communicate through the paid platform, don’t expect anything from fans”, “I can’t help but feel so upset as they didn’t even interact on their debut date”, “If you already chose to be an idol, you should understand what your fans want”, “If you don’t communicate with fans, just cut the service”, “Be responsible or give us refund”, etc.

On the other hand, some people voiced to defend the members, pointing out their busy schedule and sincere expressions of gratitude on personal accounts.

Meanwhile, (G)I-DLE debuted on May 2nd, 2018 and was reorganized into a five-member group in 2022. The group has released numerous hit songs such as “Tomboy”, “Nxde”, “Queencard”, “Fate”, etc.
