Recently, controversies have continuously arisen in the entertainment industry. Actor Kwak Do-won and singer Shin Hye-sung caused a stir for their drunk driving incident, while composer Don Spike was arrested and indicted on drug charges. While these famous stars are drawing great disappointment from the public, another bad news has been delivered.

On October 28th, SBS Entertainment News reported that rapper Bassagong had been sent to prosecution on charges of filming illegal videos and distributing them through Kakaotalk group chats.

Accordingly, Seoul Mapo Police Station confirmed that Bassagong had violated the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (filming and distributing using cameras) through investigations and handed over the case to Seobu District Prosecutor’s Office last month.

Earlier on July 19th, 2018, Bassagong was accused of illegally filming his girlfriend A when she was sleeping without wearing a top and distributing the video to a Kakaotalk group chat with about 20 acquaintances. A only discovered the fact that she was secretly filmed four months later, but could not sue the rapper because she was afraid that her identity would be revealed.

However, A demanded an apology from Bassagong after she saw the rapper appearing on the Youtube web entertainment program “Mouth on Wheels” making remarks that reminded A of herself.

At that time, A said, “You’re saying that you’re dating a girl only through DMs (direct messages)? Why don’t you reveal the part where you secretly took videos of me and shared them with others? If you had conscientiously reflected on yourself, you wouldn’t have said such things on the show. I guess you don’t feel embarrassed at all”.

As the controversy intensified, Bassagong said on his SNS, “I’m sorry for causing a stir. I apologize for the wrongdoings and will reflect on myself”.

Afterwards, he said, “The victim did not sue me, but I came to the police station because I thought it would be reasonable that I pay for my crime. I will be sincere in the investigation and reflect on myself for the rest of my life so that this will never happen again”.

Meanwhile, Bassagong is under Super Jam Records, a music label established by DJ DOC Lee Ha-neul.
