Actor Kim Soo-hyun shed tears at the final shooting scene of "Queen of Tears"
On May 1st, a video titled “Goodbye now. Last greetings from ‘Queen of Tears‘ cast ※Beware of tears※” was released through the “tvN drama” channel.
Park Sung-hoon expressed his regrets, “The filming just ended. It feels like I read the script in awe just the other day, but it’s been almost a year. It doesn’t quite feel real that we finished shooting after 11 months. I’ll greet you with a better appearance in another work.” Kim Ji-won said, “We finished the big journey of 16 episodes and had the final shoot. It’s been a joyful time like the passing of seasons over the past year. I hope you continue to love Hong Hae-in until the end because she’s lovely and wonderful when you look closely.“
The video also revealed moments of encouragement between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won. Kim Soo-hyun hugged Kim Ji-won, saying, “I wasn’t feeling this way before, but suddenly I feel a bit restless.”
After embracing the director at the final shooting scene, Kim Soo-hyun said, “I feel relieved. Now it feels a bit real.” His eyes welled up with tears as he continued, “It’s the first time I’ve done a project so densely and for so long. It feels strange. Unlike other projects, it feels intimate. I was fortunate to meet great staff.“
Meanwhile, “Queen of Tears” ended with a viewership rating of 24.85% on April 29th. The romantic comedy drama depicts the dizzying crisis and miraculous rekindling of love between Hong Hae-in, a third-generation chaebol heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo, the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, and their three years of marriage. It caused a syndrome, surpassing the previous highest viewership rating record of 21.68% set by tvN’s “Crash Landing on You”. The follow-up drama is “The Midnight Romance in Hagwon” starring Jung Ryeo-won and Wi Ha-joon.
