YG Entertainment’s girl group BLACKPINK joined Weverse

YG Entertainment announced that BLACKPINK’s Weverse community opened on the 2nd. It’s the community operated on HYBE’s fandom business platform called Weverse, on which particular artists can communicate with fans.

YG Entertainment said in a news release “BLACKPINK has been working on a 4+1 project consisting of 5 events since June to mark the 5th anniversary of its debut this year. Joining Weverse this time is also a part of the 4+1 project.”

HYBE also decided to hold three hashtags events through Weverse until the 27th to celebrate BLACKPINK’s joining of Weverse.

If Weverse’s users write messages and hashtags by the event rules, eight winners will be given unreleased photos or official products of the fifth anniversary of BLACKPINK debut.

BLACKPINK, since its debut in August 2016, has been gaining popularity not only in Korea but also in the global market by releasing songs such as “DDU-DU DDU-DU” and “KILL THIS LOVE.”

They became the third YG Entertainment artists to join Weverse. The previous YG Entertainment artists are boy groups Treasure and Ikon.

YG Entertainment is working with HYBE (Weverse’s company) in the music business. Weverse Company is a subsidiary of HYBE and is in charge of operating Weverse.
