Viewers are loving these actors from historical K-dramas in 2022 ft. Hwang Min Hyun, Bae In Hyuk, and more 

These actors left a strong impression on viewers with their appearances in historical K-dramas this year. 

1. Bae In Hyuk

Bae In Hyuk has appeared in multiple dramas this year, showing off his diverse acting in different genres. “Under The Queen’s Umbrella” is considered his most impressive work in 2022, although his screen time is not much. 

Bae In Hyuk plays a talented, virtuous prince in “Under The Queen’s Umbrella” who has what it takes to be crowned the king in the future, but unfortunately, he doesn’t live long. The death of this prince opens a new turn in the drama as well as the time when the queen (Kim Hye Soo) has to dive harder into the war for power in the royal palace.

2. Hwang Min Hyun

Hwang Min Hyun is an idol-turned actor who is slowly proving his acting talent. In 2022, he starred in the historical fantasy drama “Alchemy of Souls”. Playing the second male lead, Hwang Min Hyun still gained the spotlight with his surreal visuals. He transformed into Seo Yul, a romantic guy who represents autumn. He is the genius son of the noble Seo family, a perfect person in every way, making girls fall in love with his handsome looks and superior intelligence.

3. Kim Min Jae

This year, Kim Min Jae had a successful comeback in “Poong, the Joseon Psychiatrist”. In the drama, he plays Yoo Se Poong, a doctor who is famous for his skills and wisdom. Once a famous physician of the Internal Medicine Institute, his life changed when he was accused of causing the death of the king. From a person of position who got everyone’s respect, Yoo Se Poong suddenly lost everything, causing him to decide to commit suicide. Things take a turn when he meets widow Seo Eun Woo (Kim Hyang Gi), who saves his life and helps him find the purpose in life.

4. Lee Joon

Bloody Heart” is a fantasy historical drama about a love story that is called the Joseon version of Romeo and Juliet. “Romeo” in this story is Lee Joon, who plays Lee Tae, the heir to the throne with the ambition to build an absolute monarchy with all power in his hands. To fulfill this goal, Lee Tae is forced to give up his first love, Yoo Jung, because her family is on the opposite side.

Dashing looks, great acting, particularly in emotional scenes, have helped Lee Joon receive much love from viewers and especially fans of historical K-dramas.
