The ratings of “Today’s Webtoon” are on a steady decline.
SBS’s “Today’s Webtoon”, which first aired on July 29th with an average nationwide rating of 4.1% (according to Nielsen Korea), recorded a rating of only 2.2% for the latest episode 8 broadcast on August 20th.
Korean netizens shared their thoughts on the downward trend in “Today’s Webtoon” ratings as they left comments:
- It’s a remake of a Japanese drama, so I think it doesn’t suit the taste of Koreans
- Kim Se Jeong made a comeback too soon, she was just in “Business Proposal” a few months ago
- There are still 8 episodes left, but my guess is the ratings will hit 1% soon
- I don’t know why they chose to remake this
- Personally, I find the drama fun
- It’s so sloppy for a 16-episode drama
- It’s because the original drama wasn’t good either
“Today’s Webtoon” is a remake of the Japanese manga-based series “Sleepeeer Hit!”. Oh Ma Eum, the female lead character played by Kim Se Jeong, is a former judo athlete who gave up her lifelong judo career due to an injury and got a job as a newbie at a webtoon editorial department. She then struggles to become a true webtoon editor.
