(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi Spent 10 Million Won To Fulfill Her Promise To Buy Fans Food

On May 5th, posts such as “Yuqi’s Big Fan Love” and “Idol Who Buy Me Food” went viral on various online communities. Yuqi of (G)I-DLE, who recently made her solo debut, impressed the fans who came to her stage schedule with a surprise gift.
Yuqi’s fans revealed the story, saying, “Yuqi gave gift cards to fans who came to see her pre-recording stage.” According to fans, Yuqi presented a 100,000 won food gift card to all of the fans who came to support her at her last solo music show performance. Many fans are posting photos showing off their gift cards from Yuqi.
“The gift card didn’t say the amount, so I was so surprised to find out that it was charged to 100,000 won,” they said, drawing attention. Yuqi reportedly spent 11 million won on a total of 110 fans.
In response, a video of her conversation with fans during her solo activities was re-examined. When fans jokingly asked her to treat them to a meal, “If you have time, let’s go. I’m honestly planning. I’m thinking about doing it after the promotion, but I’ll let you know later. Someday,” she said, drawing cheers.
As she kept her promise by giving gift cards to fans at the end of her solo promotion activities, netizens praised, “Fans asked her to buy them food as a joke but she actually did it, so the fans would be very grateful,” “It’s cool that an artist spends a lot of money to show their love for fans,” and “Does liking idols feed you food? Yes.”
Meanwhile, Yuqi made her solo debut on April 23 with the release of her first mini album “YUQ1”.
