Fans Express Disappointment Regarding BTS K-drama “Begins ≠ Youth”

“Begins ≠ Youth”, a K-drama inspired by BTS, has been released, only to rouse disappointment from the boy group’s fans.

On April 30, episodes 1 to 4 of the K-drama “Begins ≠ Youth”, which is based on BTS’s album series “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” (also known as “Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa” or “HYYH”), was released.

Meanwhile, episodes 5 to 8 and 9 to 12 will be released on May 7 and 14, respectively.

Unlike most other K-dramas, which air on broadcasting stations and popular OTT platforms such as Netflix, however, “Begins ≠ Youth” is released exclusively via Xclusive, and is the 1st drama series to be launched on this platform.

In fact, “Begins ≠ Youth”s release on Xclusive previously received backlash from fans, who compared the platform to a “pyramid scheme” and complained about the series being overpriced.

As “Begins ≠ Youth” got its official release, however, the few who actually gave Xclusive a try were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the K-drama. According to fans, “Begins ≠ Youth” boasts decent actors, as well as an intriguing and well-executed plot.

However, due to its release on a sketchy platform like Xclusive, the K-drama barely draws any attention, and most people were unable to access it.

HYBE fumbled so bad”, a fan lamented about the situation, whilst other deemed the fact that “Begins ≠ Youth” was not released on platforms like Netflix and Disney+ as “HYBE’s biggest mistake”.

Others also show disappointment that despite their excellent performance, actors in “Begins ≠ Youth” weren’t able to gain well-deserved attention.
