Public attention is focused on the rumor of a romantic relationship between WINNER’s Kang Seung-yoon and YG’s rookie actress Moon Ji-hyo.
The rumor began to spread on August 18th when photos of a man and a woman believed to be Kang Seung-yoon and Moon Ji-hyo walking hand in hand on the street circulated online. What caught the eyes of netizens is that both of them were dressed in matching blue-colored outfits.
After Kang Seung-yoon and Moon Ji-hyo’s dating rumor was reported by some media outlets, YG Entertainment eventually announced their position. YG said, “It’s difficult to confirm matters related to the private life of the artists”. Until now, YG has always maintained a “hard to confirm” position regarding dating rumors of their artists.
However, some netizens are raising more speculations, pointing out couple items of Kang Seung-yoon and Moon Ji-hyo.
Kang Seung-yoon recently revealed his view on romantic relationships on an entertainment show.
Kang Seung-yoon appeared as a panelist on wavve’s dating reality show “Somefing”. In response to the question “Can people kiss when they’re still in a ‘some’ relationship (flirting with each other)?”, Kang Seung-yoon honestly said, “I think if two people kiss, they must develop their relationship to the next stage”. Kissing means moving on in a relationship. Kang Seung-yoon then said, “For example, you can flirt with many people”, surprising many people. He then quickly emphasized, “Some! That means before dating”.
While having some talks with other panelists, Kang Seung-yoon said, “The act of holding hands gives off a more precious feeling”, adding “I think it’s something more important”, emphasizing the special meaning of holding hands.
Meanwhile, Moon Ji-hyo is already a familiar face to the viewers.
She participated in Mnet’s program “High School Rapper” in 2017 and gained popularity with the so-called “Shy Shy Shy” rap. Moon Ji-hyo, who was a first-year student at School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA) at that time, also became a hot topic with her outstanding beauty.
Moon Ji-hyo later joined YG Entertainment and has recently emerged as a rookie actress by acting in several music videos and movies.
In particular, Moon Ji-hyo even appeared as the female lead in the music video of Kang Seung-yoon’s solo song “BORN TO LOVE YOU” released in March, and performed melo acting with Kang Seung-yoon.
