IVE’s “Love Dive” listed among this year’s ‘Best K-pop Songs and Albums’ selected by Time Magazine

“Love Dive” by IVE entered the list of 2022’s best K-pop songs and albums by Time magazine.

Time, an American weekly magazine, released an article titled ‘The Best K-pop Songs and Albums of 2022 So Far’ on its official website on June 7th. IVE won both ‘Best K-Pop Songs and Albums’ with the second single ‘LOVE DIVE’ and the title track of the same name.

Time magazine praised IVE’s music by saying, “IVE debuted with the earworm “Eleven” last year, and by dropping their latest single, the group confidently declares that it’s no one-hit wonder.”

According to Time, “Love Dive” has a dreamy and elegant feel, with the airy and soft “Woo lalalalalalalala” on top of a steady percussion. Anyone who listens to IVE can easily fall for their voices as they tell you to dive into love. The song is also more addictive because there are details such as the brief beat drop added just before the second chorus and the spunky lyrics ‘You into me, me into you,’ sung by Rei.

Meanwhile, IVE topped the YouTube Music weekly chart with “Love Dive” and also ranked No.1 on the world’s largest music platform Spotify’s weekly K-pop chart. In addition, immediately after its release, “Love Dive” achieved an all-kill on various global charts such as Apple Music and Line Music in Japan. In YouTube Music, not only did it maintain the top spot for eight weeks in a row, but it also showed the potential to climb up the top again even after IVE’s promotions.

IVE has proven their immense popularity in Korea as well. “Love Dive” has maintained its rank at the top of major domestic music streaming sites such as Melon, Bugs, and Genie. Moreover, after promotions wrapped up, even without attendance, IVE received 7 music show wins.

IVE will show a new charm in season 2 of their own reality show “1,2,3 IVE”, which will premiere through the group’s official YouTube channel at 11 pm KST on June 13th.
