“It’s not virtual casting” From Kim Soo Hyun x Kim Ji Won to IU x Park Bo Gum…Extra-luxury romance drama lineup
Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won, Lee Jun Ho and Yoona, Kim Yoo Jung and Song Kang, Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin, Suzy and Yang Se Jong, IU and Park Bo Gum. It is a great lineup that makes you believe it is virtual casting.
On Jan 27th, Pan Entertainment announced that IU and Park Bo Gum will appear in the drama “You Have Done Well” (written by Im Sang Choon, directed by Kim Won Suk). It is a drama about the adventure-filled lives of Ae Soon and Gwan Shik, who were born in Jeju in the 1950s. In the drama, IU will play Ae Soon, who dreams of becoming a poet although she is unable to attend school. Park Bo Gum will play Gwan Shik, who only loves Ae Soon from the very beginning and pours his all into loving her.
Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Ji Won will work together as a couple in “Queen of Tears”, which is scheduled to air in the second half of 2023. Kim Soo Hyun will play Baek Hyun Woo, the legal director of the conglomerate Queens Group. Kim Ji Won will play Baek Hyun Woo’s wife Hong Hae In, the third generation of the conglomerate Queens Group.
JTBC’s “King the Land”, which is scheduled to premiere in June 2023, will star actors Lee Jun Ho and Yoona. It tells the story of Goo Won (Lee Jun Ho), the heir of the luxury hotel conglomerate The King Group who was thrown into an inheritance war, and Cheon Sa Rang (Yoona), a hotelier who always has a smile on her face till she meets Goo Won.
Suzy and Yang Se Jong were cast in Netflix’s original series “Doona!”. It is a romance drama in which the ordinary college student Won Jun (Yang Se Jong) meets Doona (Suzy), who retired after leaving behind the glamorous K-pop idol days, and they become housemates.
Netflix’s “Trunk”, which is being reviewed by Gong Yoo and Seo Hyun Jin, is a series about NM, a fixed-term marriage service agency that sets up marriage life with the spouse one desires. Seo Hyun Jin is expected to play Noh In Ji, NM’s deputy director and a person who likes staying single. Gong Yoo is considering the role of music producer Han Jung Won, who believes that all the marriages in the world are deceits.
The drama “My Demon”, which Song Kang and Kim Yoo Jung are reviewing, depicts the romance between Do Do Hee, a chaebol heiress with enemies on all sides, and Jung Gu Won, the salvation of a demon who lost his ability overnight.
Besides, the combinations of Ahn Hyo Seop and Jeon Yeo Bin in Netflix’s “A Time Called You”, Cha Eun Woo and Park Gyu Young in “A Good Day to be a Dog”, Park Eun Bin and Chae Jong Hyeop of “Diva of the Deserted Island” as well as Kim So Hyun and Hwang Min Hyun in “Useless Lies” also raise expectations.
Although Netflix’s “Gyeongseong Creature” starring Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee is not a romance drama, it is also making drama fans excited.
