Hyeri To Co-star Jang Dong-gun and Woo Do-hwan In First Noir Movie Since Debut

According to StarNews on January 2nd, Hye-ri was cast as the female protagonist of the movie “Tropical Night” (literal translation).

“Tropical Night” is a noir project written and directed by Kim Pan-soo, and produced by Hive Media Corp., which also produced films “Inside Men,” “The Last Princess,” “Forbidden Dream,” “The Man Standing Next,” “Delivery Us From Evil” and “12.12: The Day.”

In the movie, Hyeri plays Ari, a former leader of a K-pop girl group who is currently a pole dancer at a walking street club in Bangkok, Thailand. Ari and Tae-gang (Woo Do-hwan), who worked part-time as a host, meet at an event and fall in love at first sight.

In addition to Hyeri and Woo Do-hwan, top actor Jang Dong-gun will also star in “Tropical Night.” The movie will be filmed in various locations in Thailand and the timing will start at the end of January.

Meanwhile, Hyeri’s latest movie “Victory” is also about to be released. It is the first cheerleading film in Korea and tells the story of Pil-sun (Lee Hye-ri) and Mina (Park Se-wan), a school dance duo in late 1999.
