When the new song released by Big Bang won No.1 for the first time in 4 years, Daesung expressed his emotions.
On April 18th, a video titled “Exclusive reportㅣThoughts on Big Bang’s M Countdown No.1ㅣDaesung’s solo interviewㅣDaesung&D’splay’s first joint broadcastㅣDterview” was uploaded on the YouTube channel “D’splay”. “D’splay” is a channel where Daesung acts as his sub-character.
The video contained the interview between YouTuber D’splay and Big Bang Daesung (real name Kang Dae-sung). When asked “Did you see that you got No.1 at M Countdown?”, Daesung replied, “Yes, I saw it on the Internet. Thank you so much.”
He shared his thoughts, “Actually, we didn’t have a chance to say how we felt. It’s an honor to say how we feel about it through D’splay channel. Thank you so much, everyone.” He added, “It’s been 4 years since we released a new song. We put a lot of thoughts into it. I felt that this song was remembered not only by our thoughts but also by your past and present. It’s such an honor and I sincerely thank you.”
While greeting, Daesung suddenly burst into tears, saying, “I’m really nervous.” When D’splay asked “Daesung, are you crying?”, Daesung said “No, I’m not crying” and could not hide his trembling voice. Then he told his fans, “I love you so much.”
The interview ended like this. Big Bang released “Still Life” on April 5th. It was their first new song in about 4 years since “Flower Road” in 2018. Although they do not appear on music shows separately, they took first place on Mnet’s “M Countdown” that aired on April 14th.
