Vague response to dating news

YG never has a clear position to either defend, deny, or confirm the dating reports of their artists, but only makes vague statements that cause netizens to be even more confused. From the dating news of Jennie (BLACKPINK) – G-Dragon (BIGBANG) to CL (2NE1) – Mino (WINNER), YG always made short and unclear press releases to respond, such as “We can’t contact the artist”, “It’s difficult to confirm anything related to the artists’ personal lives”, or even “We take the same position as SM Entertainment”.

Lazy naming of music products

YG has a general formula for naming their artists’ products without any deep meaning. For example, TREASURE has released 3 albums called The First Step: Chapter One, The First Step: Chapter Two, The First Step: Chapter Three.

BLACKPINK is another “victim” when the group’s first full album was titled The Album. The girls’ online concert was called The Show, and the first documentary was simply BLACKPINK: The Movie.

“Weird” audition criteria 

YG’s trainee recruitment was always thought to be difficult and intense, but the company once published an “uncanny” audition notice as the requirements are just to love rapping, dancing, or singing. The age range is from 1 to 101, and the registration deadline is even until 2030.
