“The Glory” Song Ji Woo, “Hye Jeong’s shocking kiss scene with the P.E. teacher? I felt burdened but it was a necessary scene”

Actress Song Ji Woo talked about the kiss scene between her character Choi Hye Jung and the P.E. teacher in “The Glory”.

In Netflix’s drama “The Glory”, Song Ji Woo played the childhood of Choi Hye Jung, one of the five perpetrators who bully Moon Dong Eun (Jung Ji So), and surprised viewers with her shocking kiss scene. Choi Hye Jung lures the P.E. teacher and obtains the key to secure the gym, where the victims are bullied, with an intense kiss.

In this regard, Song Ji Woo shared, “I felt very burdened because it was my first time doing such an unconventional kiss scene”, adding “But I was okay with it because I thought it was a necessary scene to show the personality of Hye Jeong”.

She continued, “The director tried to shoot the scene quickly, so it didn’t take long. However, since we had to make sure that the key with ‘gym’ written on it was shown clearly on the screen, we had to redo it a few times.”

Choi Hye Jeong is considered in the lower rank among “The Glory” school violence perpetrators because her family background is not comparable to the others. Song Ji Woo analyzed, “Since Hye Jeong is in the lower rank, she tries to follow her friends and gain recognition by intentionally bringing more victims like Dong Eun to the bullies.”

The actress explained, “Being able to get the key from the P.E. teacher was the way Hye Jeong shows off her abilities and proves herself. That’s why I thought the kiss scene was necessary for my character.”

“The Glory” has caused a syndrome and topped Netflix’s Global TV Show chart for two consecutive weeks ever since the release of Part 2 on March 10th.
