As actor Yoo Yeon Seok was accused of disregarding a security guard, his agency heralded legal action.
On March 22nd, an official from Yoo Yeon Seok’s agency, King Kong by Starship, told hankyung.com, “We are aware of the post and has grasped the fact. The claim is groundless.“
The agency also added that they will take strong legal action against the original poster regarding false information.
Earlier, a netizen, A, uploaded a post on an online community, claiming that A’s father worked as a security guard for the building where Yoo Yeon Seok. However, the actor made insulting remarks towards said father.
A claimed, “My father especially liked Yoo Yeon Seok among the celebrities living there since he looked honest, sincere and kind on TV. Even though Yoo Yeon Seok didn’t return his greeting once, he only thought Yoo Yeon Seok was busy.“
A continued, “One day, he came home with a dark expression, and he quit being a security guard that month. After that, when actor Yoo Yeon Seok appeared on TV, my father’s expression became distorted and he went into his room. He said, ‘Yoo Yeon Seok isn’t a good guy, he’s a bad guy.’”
According to A, Yoo Yeon Seok, along with his friends, made disrespectful remarks about A’s father, leading to A’s father quitting his job as a security guard because he felt ashamed and humiliated.
A’s post later sparked a controversy. However, as it is an emotional post, there were many opinions that information in the post need to be carefully checked before any assumption is made.
