Why Didn’t Park Min-young’s Status Change From Reference To Suspect In Kang Jong-hyun’s Investigation?
On January 15th, the YouTube channel of reporter-turned-YouTuber Lee Jin-ho uploaded a video titled “The truth behind the 250-million-won fund for living expenses! Why is it unfair for Park Min-young?”.
In the video, Lee Jin-ho explained that Dispatch reported the news of Park Min-young receiving 250 million won from her ex-boyfriend Kang Jong-hyun “based on the prosecution’s indictment”.
Lee Jin-ho continued, “Checking this incident, there is content that raises questions”, adding “Did Park Min-young use the amount of 250 million won deposited into Park Min-young’s account as living expenses? The prosecution summoned Park Min-young in February last year and there was an article saying a travel ban was imposed on her”.
He continued, “The travel ban has been lifted since she was investigated as a reference on February 14th. If she actually used 250 million won, her status would have been changed to a suspect”, adding “However, Park Min-young has been a reference and no changes have been made to her status until now.”
The YouTuber emphasized, “Of course, she cannot avoid responsibility for moral issues because Kang Jong-hyun used her account as a borrowed-name account”.
In addition, he said, “It is possible that Park Min-young and Kang Jong-hyun had already planned and talked about it. Because the use of money is very important. However, after checking, it seems that the facts have been somewhat clarified from Park Min-young’s perspective”.
Lee Jin-ho explained, “It is not confirmed whether Park Min-young used that money or not, but the purpose of Kang Jong-hyun’s use of money has been verified. It is true that 250 million won was deposited in the name of Park Min-young but Kang Jong-hyun stated that he used the amount for business purposes and his statement has been confirmed through the prosecution’s investigation. That’s why Park Min-young was no longer suspicious and she was investigated as a reference only”.
Citing words from an official from Park Min-young’s ongoing drama “Marry My Husband” production team, the actress has been having a hard time even though she didn’t express her feelings.
After Dispatch published the article, Park Min-young firmly faced the controversy by issuing an explanation through her company and posting on her Instagram with the caption “Sick of it all”. On the same day, she attended the wrap party of “Marry My Husband” in Yeouido, Seoul.
