In recent years, the Hallyu wave has been increasingly popular in Japan’s entertainment industry. Recently, a major Japanese website has released a popularity ranking of Korean male actors in this country. The Top 5 is as follows:
1. Park Seo Joon
2. Lee Min Ho
3. Park Hyung Sik
4. Gong Yoo
5. Cha Eun Woo
As a well-known actor not only in Korea but also across Asia, who will soon make his debut in Hollywood, it comes as no surprise that Park Seo Joon tops this list. Lee Min Ho coming in 2nd place is also easy to understand because he mostly stars in romance dramas that suit the taste of Japanese viewers.
Park Hyung Sik at 3rd place is quite unexpected, since his impact is somewhat less outstanding compared to other names in the Top 5, especially after being discharged from the army. Having achieved success in both television and cinema thanks to his great acting and mature visuals, Gong Yoo’s popularity is unarguable so it’s not surprising that he’s also well-loved in Japan and ranks 4th place in this list. The final name – Cha Eun Woo probably has the most questionable acting skills in the Top 5. However, when it comes to visuals, it goes without saying that “face genius” Cha Eun Woo is top-tier.
