“The Policeman’s Lineage”, Choi Woo-sik’s 1st movie return after “Parasite”: “I’ll show a strong character”

Actor Choi Woo-sik took up an acting transformation with his first comeback film “The Policeman’s Lineage” after “Parasite.” 

On Nov 25th, a production presentation for the movie “The Policeman’s Lineage” was held online due to the pandemic situation.

“The Policeman’s Lineage” is a crime movie depicting a dangerous investigation by Kang Yoon (Cho Jin-woong), an ace of the metropolitan investigation unit, who boasts unrivaled arrest performance with huge donations from unknown sources, and Min Jae (Choi Woo-sik), a principle police officer who secretly monitored him.

On this day, Choi Woo-sik said, “There are images that I’ve shown in “Parasite”, but I wanted to show you a stronger character this time,” adding, “I’ve worked hard to show you a character that prefers to do physical actions first along with various action scenes.”

Choi Woo-sik was invited to The Academy Awards as the “Parasite” cast while filming “The Policeman’s Lineage.” He said, “It was around February when it was very cold, and I was filming a movie for a long while. I was out of my mind at that time,” adding, “When I heard the news of the invitation, I didn’t know if it was a dream or real life.”

“The Policeman’s Lineage” is scheduled to be released in January 2022.
