On April 28th (local time), former Japanese actor Miura Kota (40) appeared on Fuji TV’s late-night program “Bee The TOP” to reveal about his life after retirement from the entertainment industry.

In this broadcast, Miura Kota appeared with cheers from many people. Regarding the reason for his retirement, he said that he felt mentally distressed about his job as an actor as drama roles disappeared due to the influence of COVID-19 in 2020.

While living with a part-time job, he accidentally found a cleaning company run by comedian-turned-businessman Irie Shinya on YouTube. Inspired by Irie’s cleaning company, Miura boldly sent a message to Irie in June 2021 and had an interview with the company. Later in July 2021, Miura Kota retired from the entertainment industry and joined the cleaning company “Peekaboo” (ピカピカ) run by Irie Shinya.

Netizens responded by saying, “He was my favorite actor, it’s such a pity that he retires so quickly,” “I’m always rooting for you wherever you’re working,” “You’re so determined,” and “It’s cool how someone who was only active in broadcasting would think about working at a cleaning company.”
