“I was their best friend” “Hangout with Yoo” songwriter is fined for assaulting his girlfriend

Famous composer A, who participated in the remake version of SSAK3’s “In Summer” on MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo,” was fined for committing dating violence.

According to Wikitree’s coverage on August 10th, famous composer A (29) was sentenced to an abbreviated procedure by the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office for assaulting his girlfriend B on July 26th.

The abbreviated procedure means that the prosecution seeks a fine without going through a formal trial process if the crime is not severe, although it is recognized as a criminal charge. If one doesn’t agree with the summary order, they can request a formal trial.

Hangout with Yoo

Here’s what happened. A hit his girlfriend B’s cheek and head several times after drinking in his studio on February 6th. The two had been dating for seven months since July last year and have reportedly separated after the incident.

A continued his active activities even after assaulting B. It was only two months after the incident that he visited and apologized to B. Judging that A’s apology was not sincere, B filed a complaint with the Seoul Western District Prosecutors’ Office in May for assault and A was sentenced to an abbreviated procedure on July 26th.
