Disney+ excites fans with amazing K-content lineup, “Not a US drama, but a Korean one?”

OTT platform Disney+ has revealed its K-content lineup for 2023, exciting fans with numerous amazing works.

After the highly successful original series “Big Bet”, the OTT platform Disney+ has unveiled an amazing K-content lineup for 2023, drawing keen attention from viewers.

First, Disney+’s original series lineup instantly grabs attention with high-quality projects, which features top Korean production teams and actors.

One notable project is the office K-drama “Race”, which stars Lee Yeon Hee, Hong Jong Hyun, Moon So Ri, and Jung Yun Ho, and tells the story of South Korean office workers struggling to survive in a variety of work environments. The show is set to premiere on May 10th.

Also receiving high anticipation from subscribers is the 2nd season of investigation thriller “Shadow Detective”. The series will continue to follow male lead Kim Taek Rok (Lee Sung Min), as he returns to track down the hidden mastermind behind the blackmailer “Friend”.

Adding to the lineup is “Han River”, featuring an all-star cast including Kwon Sang Woo, Kim Hee Won, Lee Sang Yi, Bae Da Bin, and Shin Hyun Seung, who transform into Han River police officers.

Another highly-anticipated title is “Moving”, a drama based on a popular webtoon of the same name. So far, “Moving” has garnered attention for its all-star cast including Ryu Seung Ryong, Han Hyo Joo, Jo In Sung, Cha Tae Hyun, Ryu Seung Bum, Kim Sung Kyun, Kim Hee Won, Moon Sung Geun, Lee Jung Ha, Go Yoon Jung, and Kim Do Hoon.

Disney+ is also preparing the Korean original series “The Worst of Evil”, where an explosive synergy of Ji Chang Wook, Wi Ha Joon, and Im Se Mi can be expected.

The action thriller “Vigilante”, which follows the story of Kim Ji Yong who lives a double life as a model police academy student by day and a crime-fighting vigilante by night, also appears on Disney+’s lineup.

In addition to original series, Disney+ also offers a variety of genres like original variety shows, sports, and music documentaries.

For instance, BTS Suga’s music documentary “SUGA: Road to D-DAY” and the sports documentary “Full Count”, which features ten professional baseball teams in South Korea, are set to premiere on April 21st and April 26th, respectively.

Other highlights include Psy’s concert live film “Summer Swag 2022”, which heated up the summer of 2022, and the 2nd season of hilarious variety show “The Zone: Hold On to Live”, which features Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Kwon Yuri, boasting intense cast chemistry. 

Alongside original works, Disney+ also offers popular Korean films and dramas, such as the family spy comedy “Family”, starring Jang Hyuk and Jang Na Ra, and the highly-rated doctor drama “Dr. Romantic 3”, known for its touching humanism.

Moreover, the anticipated occult mystery “The Devil”, which is written by Kim Eun Hee of “Kingdom” and director Lee Jung Rim of “V.I.P”, is mentioned in Disney+’s lineup. The series, which stars Kim Tae Ri and Oh Jung Se, is expected to attract subscribers from both Korea and abroad.

Finally, “The First Responders”, a series showing a police station and a fire station’s joint responses to fierce scenes, will also be available for streaming on Disney+.
