Contrasting whereabouts of Park Shin Hye and her lookalike: One is successful and happily married, the other is controversial

Park Shin Hye and this idol-turned actress may look similar, but their images and positions in the industry are different.

Park Shin Hye and Ryu Hwa Young are known to be a pair of lookalikes among Korean actresses. Although their faces share a striking resemblance, Park Shin Hye always played nice, righteous female protagonists, while Ryu Hwa Young was often cast in antagonistic supporting roles.

Their appearances are similar, but career wise, Park Shin Hye and Ryu Hwa Young are totally different. Over the years, Park Shin Hye has gone from a beloved child actress to an A-lister. She continued to receive offers to lead top-tier dramas alongside other famous actors. Not only is she successful professionally, Park Shin Hye also has a perfect marriage with her handsome husband, actor Choi Tae Joon. After the fairytale wedding that took place earlier this year, Park Shin Hye is now a mother. She gave birth to her first child on May 31.

While Park Shin Hye is living a dreamlike life, Ryu Hwa Young’s current situation is the opposite. As a former member of T-ara, Ryu Hwa Young has been criticized for many years and called a “snake” for what she did in the past that ruined the group. Specifically, 10 years ago, Hwa Young played the victim of bullying by T-ara members, causing the rest of T-ara to be boycotted and face heavy criticism. When the truth came to light, the public was shocked by Ryu Hwa Young’s true personality.

Having a tainted image as an idol, Ryu Hwa Young has not been able to achieve success as an actress either. She has starred in plenty of dramas and her acting is deemed not bad, but there is still no specific role of hers that left a lasting impression on the audience.
