According to the music industry on December 2nd, the government has decided to impose 10 days of self-quarantine for all overseas arrivals from December 3rd in response to the new virus variant.

BTS is staying in the United States for a Los Angeles concert that began on the 27th of last month.

In addition to the concert, they are scheduled to perform at the famous U.S. music festival “Jingle Ball” on December 3rd (local time). Accordingly, no matter how soon the group return to Korea after the festival, they won’t be able to avoid 10 days of self-isolation.

Naturally, BigHit Music staff, who stay with BTS during the concert, will also be in self-quarantine.

An official in the music industry complained, “Isn’t the government announcing it too suddenly without a grace period?”

As BTS has to go through 10 days of self-quarantine, they are naturally going to be absent from the MAMA awards ceremony, which will be held on December 11th. Of course, the members can send video messages, but it is not going to be easy because they cannot gather together during quarantine.

Meanwhile, Mnet has avoided a definite answer to the question whether BTS will appear at the awards ceremony. BTS attended the awards ceremony last year and won eight awards, including four Daesangs.
