Big Hit’s producer Pdogg, who composed songs for BTS, got paid 40 billion won last year

According to a 2021 business report released by HYBE on March 22nd, Big Hit Music’s main producer Pdogg received a total of 40.77 billion won last year, including salaries, bonuses, and profits from stock options.

Pdogg has participated in writing and composing songs for BTS as the main producer ever since the group’s debut. He is the person behind BTS’s hit songs, such as “ON”, “Boy With Luv”, “Spring Day”, etc. In addition, he has topped the list of Korean celebrities who earn the most royalties for the past four consecutive years.

Joining HYBE during its early days, Pdogg also benefited greatly from stock options.

Pdogg previously made a profit of 311,938 won per share in November 2016, exercising 128,000 shares received at 1062 won at the price of 313,000 won. The total profit from this later reached 39.928 billion won

CEO Yoon Seok-joon, another early member of HYBE, and CAMO Kim Shin-kyu also earned huge profits from exercising stock options, ranking No.2 and No.3. 

CEO Yoon Seok-joon, who is in charge of HYBE America, received a total of 39.229 billion won, including 38.369 billion won in stock options exercise profits, 399 million won in retirement income, and 269 million won in salary.

CAMO Kim Shin-kyu got paid a total of 27.8 billion won, including 27.451 billion won in stock options exercise profits.

Chief Brand Officer (CBO) Min Hee-jin, who leads HYBE’s new label ‘ADOR’, earned a total of 526 million won last year, including 338 million won in salary and 187 million won in bonuses.

CEO Park Ji-won received a total of 509 million won (500 million won in salary, 7 million won in bonuses, etc.).
