In response, Lee Joo-myung said, “The viewers’ opinions were divided. When I received the script, I really liked the ending because it was realistic. I said I was impressed by the scene of the conversation between Hee-do and Yi-jin in episode 16. But I like it even more because it was so realistic. Of course, many people think it would have been better if the drama ended with a happy ending or a different one. I think the writer left an open door for the ending. Considering the drama as a story about our youth’s love and freshness since it’s a coming-of-age drama rather than trying to match with such endings, I cried a lot in reality. I also asked other actors. I suddenly cried while reading quickly through the script in the middle of the filming and they asked me, ‘Did you cry?’. I’m a realist so I just thought, ‘Have I ever had such an experience?’. I think the story was realistic. To me, it was a good ending”.
