Lee Jong-won had an interview with Ten Asia at a cafe in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on February 15th and told various behind the scenes stories about MBC’s Friday-Saturday drama “Knight Flower.”
This is Lee Jong-won’s first historical drama. He learned calligraphy, horse riding, and action acting for the first time. “I learned for about three to four months to prepare for the filming,” Lee said. He learned swordsmanship four to five times a week, and he practiced horseback riding along the way in order to act without a stand-in.
At an earlier press conference, director Jang Tae-yu revealed that Lee Honey suffered a ruptured cruciate ligament during filming. Regarding this, Lee Jong-won said, “In the first episode of the gambling scene, Lee Honey tore her cruciate ligament while filming with her leg down, and went to the emergency room in a hurry. The action director stopped her, but she said she could do it, and she finished it well.“
“I’ve never been injured. The horses listened to me well, and I was the most cautious person on set because it was my first time doing action. I was nervous and rehearsed a lot, so that’s why I didn’t get injured,” he added.
