Kim Joo-hun to appear in ‘The Crown Prince Has Disappeared’ “First full-length historical drama challenge”

On Jan 17th, the agency S.A.L.T. Entertainment said, “Kim Joo-hun was cast in MBN’s new drama ‘The Crown Prince Has Disappeared’ (working title). Please show a lot of interest and warm support for Kim Joo-hun as he challenges his first full-length historical drama.

Set in Joseon, “The Crown Prince Has Disappeared” (working title) is about a crown prince who is kidnapped by the woman destined to be his wife. While fleeing for their lives, romance blooms between them. The drama is directed by Kim Jin-man, known for works such as “The Greatest Love”, “Kill Me, Heal Me”, “Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People”, and written by Kim Ji-soo and Park Cheol, the duo behind “Bossam: Steal the Fate”.

In this drama, Kim Joo-hun takes on the role of Choi Sang-rok, a royal physician at naeuiwon. Choi Sang-rok only has eyes for one woman. He risks his life to meet that woman and dedicates his life to protecting her. This marks Kim Joo-hun’s first challenge in a full-length historical drama, raising expectations as he has previously showcased his talent in various genres such as melodrama, romantic comedy, hard-boiled and medical drama since his debut.

Kim Joo-hun made his media debut with tvN’s “Encounter” and appeared in various works such as SBS’s “Dr. Romantic” Season 2 and Season 3, tvN’s “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay”, SBS’s “Now, We Are Breaking Up”, MBC’s “Big Mouth” and tvN’s “Castaway Diva”.

Furthermore, he made special appearances in Disney+’s original series “Soundtrack #1”, Netflix’s series “Juvenile Justice” and “A Model Family” and ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”, leaving a strong impact.

Meanwhile, MBN’s new drama “The Crown Prince Has Disappeared” (working title) starring Kim Joo-hun is scheduled to be broadcast in the first half of 2024.
