The youngest sister in “Little Women”: Attracting attention with her pure beauty and owning two hit works at the age of 18

Park Ji-hoo was born on November 7th, 2003 in Daegu. To movie fans, Park Ji-hoo is a familiar face who left a deep impression with her performance in “House of Hummingbird”. Playing her first lead role in this movie, Park Ji-hoo impressed everyone with her amazing acting skills.

In “House of the Hummingbird”, Park Ji-hoo transforms into the 14-year-old girl Eun-hee, who grew up in a working-class family in 1994 when the economy is developing significantly. Spending too much time working part-time at a tteokbokki store, Eun-hee didn’t do well at school. On the other hand, Eun-hee’s brother always received privileges. Even when Eun-hee’s brother abused her physically, her parents ignored everything and blamed parts of the problems on her.

Not stopping there, Eun-hee was betrayed by her best friend and her boyfriend also lied to her. Fortunately, Eun-hee found someone who could help her heal the wounds in her heart. From that moment, she learned how to grow up, love herself and fight against injustice.

The story of Eun-hee was actually inspired by the childhood of director Kim Bo-ra. Portraying a character with such complicated emotions is not easy at all, but Park Ji-hoo did it perfectly.

With Park Ji-hoo’s excellent performance, “House of Hummingbird” won 27 awards at movie awards in Korea and overseas, including the Crystal Bear for Generation 14plus – Best Film at the Berlin International Film Festival. In addition, at the time she played Eun-hee, Park Ji-hoo was only 15 years old.

In fact, it was the success of the mega-hit drama “All of Us Are Dead” that made Park Ji-hoo’s face and name widely known to movie and drama fans.

While “All of Us Are Dead” (directed by Lee Jae-kyu and Kim Nam-soo) became viral on the small screen, Park Ji-hoo also made headlines all over the place on SNS sites and online communities together with other young actors, such as Yoon Chan-young, Park Solomon, Jo Yi-hyun and Lee Yoo-mi.

The most regretful part is that Park Ji-hoo’s acting in this drama was said to be not as excellent as her performance in “House of Hummingbird”. Many viewers even pointed out Park Ji-hoo as the person who did worst among the main cast.

However, Park Ji-hoo still gained huge popularity. 3 days after “All of Us Are Dead” was released, Park Ji-hoo’s Instagram exceeded 1 million followers. At the moment, she already has more than 4.1 million followers, which is an impressive achievement for a young actress.

Park Ji-hoo took the first kiss of Yoon Chan-young, the male lead of “All of Us Are Dead”

Park Ji-hoo had many great memories with the actors of “All of Us Are Dead”, especially her co-star Yoon Chan-young, during the filming process. In fact, Yoon Chan-young was also the reason why Park Ji-hoo decided to enter the Department of Theater and Film at Hanyang University, the alma mater of many famous stars, such as Lee Byung-hun, Ji Sung, Kim So-hyun, Ha Seok-jin and Choi Ji-woo.

In this regard, Park Ji-hoo said, “At the filming site, I always saw Chan-young oppa wear the jacket that has ‘Hanyang University’s Department of Theater and Film’ on it. At first, I wondered, ‘Why is he wearing that in this hot weather? Is he trying to show off or something?’. After seeing it many times, I found it pretty. Chan-young oppa also told me a lot of things about his school and how great Hanyang is. That’s the reason why I became interested in this university.”

Yoon Chan-young once revealed a secret related to Park Ji-hoo. Accordingly, it was Park Ji-hoo who took away his first kiss. Appearing on the entertainment program “Knowing Bros” in March this year, Yoon Chan-young confessed that the kiss with Park Ji-hoo in “All of Us Are Dead” was his first kiss. Since it was Yoon Chan-young’s first time doing a kiss scene, he was very nervous so he called Park Ji-hoo and discussed how the two should act.

Many fans have tried to ship Park Ji-hoo with Yoon Chan-young. However, they failed to see what they wanna see. As a matter of fact, Park Ji-hoo has confirmed in an interview after “All Of Us Are Dead” that no guy has been able to conquer her heart.

The actress shared, “I have never tried confessing to a boy before. Actually, I have no experience in love at all.”

Back to “Little Women,” Park Ji-hoo’s acting this time is said to be much better. With her pure and soft appearance, she is once again chosen for a student role like in “House of Hummingbird” and “All Of Us Are Dead”. Hopefully, this series will become a big success and be able to help the rookie Park Ji-hoo shine.

“Little Women” is aired every Saturday and Sunday.
