Kelly Clarkson praises AleXa, “A K-pop artist that inspires other performers”

AleXa (Kim Se-ri) once again captivated the entire United States.

AleXa made her first appearance on the popular NBC talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show”, which aired on the morning of May 13th (KST). She shared her feelings and the story behind winning the “American Song Contest” (ASC) recently.

On this day, MC Kelly Clarkson aroused viewers’ interest from the opening by introducing AleXa, the winner of “ASC”, as “an unstoppable artist”.

Kelly Clarkson recalled her first meeting with AleXa, “I was shocked when I found out that there’s a girl singing K-pop from Oklahoma. I expected a genre of music completely different from K-pop. I was happy to see an artist like AleXa through this program.” AleXa smiled proudly at her praise.

AleXa won the final of the NBC competition program “ASC” on May 10th with overwhelming viewer votes. AleXa, who participated as the only K-pop artist among a total of 56 participants, beat a famous pop star and became the first K-pop artist to win a large-scale U.S. competition program, drawing keen attention from various foreign media outlets and raising K-pop’s global status to the fullest.

AleXa was invited to appear on “The Kelly Clarkson Show” by former “ASC” MC Kelly Clarkson. This talk show is a popular American TV show hosted by world-renowned singer-songwriter and actress Kelly Clarkson, featuring global stars such as Youn Yuh-jung, Black Pink Rosé, TWICE, NCT 127, ITZY and aespa.

Meanwhile, AleXa will attend the 2022 Billboard Music Awards, one of the three major American popular music awards, on the morning of May 16th as the privilege of “ASC” winner. In addition, she plans to hold a fan signing event in the U.S. to communicate with global fans.
