Jung Sung Hwa X Kim Go Eun’s “Hero” ranks first in terms of Korean movie reservation rate

A week before its release, “Hero” ranked first in terms of Korean movie reservation rate due to a steep rise in reservation volume, signaling that it will dominate theaters this winter.

Hero (directed by Yoon Je Kyoon) follows the true story of An Jung Geun, a Korean-independence activist who assassinated Itō Hirobumi, the first Prime Minister of Japan and Resident-General of Korea in 1909.

From a week before its release, “Hero” has continued to rank first in terms of Korean movie reservation rate based on the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network. In particular, “Hero”, which is showing a steep rise with the opening of reservations, recorded 38,842 pre-booking audiences as of 10 AM on Dec 15th.

This is more than double the pre-booking volume of “Along with the Gods: The Last 49 Days” (14,000 pre-booking audiences – final audience number: 12.27 million) and “Train to Busan” (18,000 pre-booking audiences – final audience number: 11.56 million).
