Famous actress Jun Ji Hyun, who has been quiet since “Jirisan”, announced a surprising news
On September 7th, luxury designer house Burberry announced that it had selected Jun Ji Hyun as its global ambassador. This is the first time a Korean female actor was picked for such a position.
At the same time, Burberry released a still image and a video of Jun Ji Hyun. In the still image, the actress attracted attention by stylishly flaunting designs from Burberry’s 2022 Fall/Winter Collection, while posing against the brand’s iconic pink background.
Jun Ji Hyun is widely-known actress, who contributed greatly to the growth of the Korean Wave through various movies like “The Thieves”, “The Berlin File”, “Assassination”, as well as hit K-dramas like “My Love From The Star”, “Legend of The Blue Sea”, and most recently, “Kingdom: Ashin of The North”. As a result, she receives great attention and love from many people throughout Asia, both in and outside of Korea.
Explaining its decision to select Jun Ji Hyun as a global ambassador, the now 160-year-old Burberry explained that Jun Ji Hyun is a perfect fit for its representative classicism and timeless elegance.
Regarding this news, Jun Ji Hyun said, ”I am very honored to be selected as Burberry’s ambassador. Burberry is a brand that innovates with the changing times while maintaining tradition based on a rich British history.”
The actress also added, “This is also what I want to convey to the audience as an actress. Timeless elegance inspires me a lot. I am excited and looking forward to the activities I’ll be doing as an ambassador in the future.”
Meanwhile, Jun Ji Hyun is also reviewing her next work after the 2021 drama “Jirisan” (also known as “Mount Jiri”).
