Actor Jin Goo and actress Gong Seung Yeon have been chosen to host the opening ceremony of the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival.

Jin Goo and Gong Seung Yeon will be the MCs hosting the opening ceremony of the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival (co-executive directors Min Sung Wook and Jung Joon Ho) to be held at 6:30 p.m. on the 27th of this month at the Sori Arts Center of Jeollabuk-do in Jeonju.

Jin Goo debuted as a child actor through the 2003 drama “All In” and has gained huge love by starring in various works of different genres, such as “Descendants of the Sun”, “A Superior Day”, “Shadow Detective”, “The King of the Desert”, “The Admiral: Roaring Currents: (2014), “One Line” (2016), “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One” (2022), etc.

Gong Seung Yeon has proved her delicate yet solid acting skills through her performances in various dramas such as “The First Responders”, “Bulgasal: Immortal Souls”, etc., and movies “Aloners” (2021), “Voice Over” (2021), etc. The actress boasts a deep connection with this film festival as she previously won the Korean Competition Category Actor Award of the 22nd Jeonju International Film Festival for “Aloners” and was selected as a judge for the Korean Short Film Competition at the festival in the following year.

The opening film of the Jeonju International Film Festival is “Tori and Lokita” directed by Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne. This will be the first time that the Dardenne brothers come to this festival.

Starting with the opening ceremony, the 24th Jeonju International Film Festival will be held from April 27th to May 6th in the Jeonju Film Street. During the ten-day event, 247 films from 42 countries will be screened, and 38 Korean short films will also be released online.
