2023 was a successful year for BTS’s maknae Jungkook and girl group NewJeans
Apart from Jungkook and NewJeans, Japanese stars such as YOASOBI, Matsushita Kouhei, Imida Mio, etc. also appeared on the list. This proves the immense influence of Jungkook and NewJeans in Japan.
On November 3rd, Jungkook released his first solo album “GOLDEN” and created a sensation in the domestic and global music markets. In Japan, he achieved three Oricon medals, and ranked No.1 in various charts, including Weekly Album Ranking, Weekly Digital Album Ranking and Weekly Combined Album Ranking. On December 4th, the male singer will perform on CDTV Live, presenting his first performance on a Japanese broadcast as a solo artist.
The popular fourth-generation girl group Newjeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin & Hyein) also certified their overwhelming impact beyond Korea. Last summer, they drew admiration for arousing a huge number of audiences at Japan’s representative summer music festival “Summer Sonic”. On a Japanese radio program, CEO Shimizu Naoki shared, “It was the Marine Stadium’s first stage, which opened at noon, that announced the fastest entry restriction in history”, surprising everyone. In addition, NewJeans was also nominated at the Japan Record Awards, known as a prestige awards ceremony, for the hit song “Ditto”.
Meanwhile, NewJeans recently won 2 Daesangs at the 2023 MAMA Awards, while Jungkook received Best Dance Performance (Male Solo) and Best Collaboration.
