Singer IU left a message about her romantic relationship with actor Lee Jong Suk.
Early in the morning of January 1st, IU posted a long message on her official fancafe under the title “New Year’s Greeting”.
Earlier on December 31st, 2022, Dispatch reported IU and Lee Jong Suk’s romance with photos of the two’s Christmas date in Nagoya, Japan. Both sides confirmed their relationship.
IU said, “I wonder where and how everyone has spent your time at the end of 2022, and whether you were a little bit upset on the last day of the year because of me, so I’m here to say ‘thank you’ and ‘sorry’ to UAENAs as well as deliver my new year’s greeting to you all”.
IU continued, “Those who saw the articles today will know. I’m actually dating. I’m being very careful because I think UAENAs, who always worry about me and are curious about how I’m doing, must have been very surprised. But, yes…That’s what happened!”
The female singer explained, “I and my old colleague are developing love and relying on each other. He has been cheering on me, saying ‘You’re cool, so cool’, for a long time and I’m thankful for that. He’s also a cute and reliable person, who gave me sincere encouragement”.
In fact, Lee Jong Suk is 4 years older than IU.

Meanwhile, when Lee Jong Suk won Daesang at the 2022 MBC Drama Awards, he said, “I want to say that I’ve liked that person for a very long time and I respect them a lot”. In the end, “that person” turned out to be his girlfriend IU.
