“It’s really surprising…” Easy-to-sing and difficult-to-sing songs according to IU

The easy-to-sing and difficult-to-sing songs that singer IU revealed herself attracted netizens’ attention.

On Aug 6th, a post titled “The easy and difficult songs for IU’s vocal range” was uploaded on the online community theqoo.

According to the post, IU picked “Ice Flower” sung with Kim Yu-na as a difficult song that was too high for her vocal range.

On the contrary, she chose “Hold My Hand”, the first song she wrote and composed, as a song she sang comfortably because it matched her vocal range.

Netizens who saw the post commented, “She had only sung high-pitched songs, so she made a comfortable song like ‘Hold My Hand'”, “When I heard IU sing, both low and high-pitched notes were solid” and “‘Ice Flower’ was really high.”

“Hold My Hand”, the first song IU wrote and composed, ranked second on the Gaon Weekly Digital Chart, got on the weekly TOP10 chart for 3 consecutive weeks as well as took 49th place on the 2011 Gaon Annual Digital Chart.

It topped the weekly chart on Melon. After IU sang “Hold My Hand” at the “LOVE, POEM” Seoul concert in Nov 2019, the song climbed to No.2 on the Melon real-time chart.
