EXO’s Kai shed tears during Instagram live after his military enlistment was suddenly announced
Amid sudden news of his military enlistment, EXO’s Kai got teary while talking to fans.
On May 3rd, EXO Kai had a live Instagram broadcast where he communicated with fans while walking around wearing a hoodie and a cap.
Notably, Kai couldn’t hold back his tears as he said, “I’m going to the military. I had plans to promote, and it would have been great if I could have done more. Time flies.”
Kai continued, “This time will also pass quickly. I’m fine. I’ve been dancing since I was 8 years old, including my time as a trainee since I was 19. I started because I liked dancing, and before I knew it, I became a singer. Dancing and singing are both great, but meeting fans is even better.“
Kai conveyed his regret, saying, “I’ve been working hard for over 20 years. I can wait. I prepared a lot, so it’s a shame that I can’t show it. There’s nothing that I could do about this.“
Kai told fans, “Eat well, sleep well, and if you have an exam, do well. And most importantly, don’t lose your dreams and run towards them. Let’s do things together and meet again. I’m sorry I couldn’t show you everything I prepared, but I’ll show you when I get back. Kai is always here.“
He added, “I hope I could see your faces before I go. I want to see you, too. I miss you even now. Today is the first day of me finding out about it as well, so please understand. I’ll be smiling starting from tomorrow.”
Kai will be enlisting in the army on May 11th, receiving basic military training at an army training center and then serving as a social service worker, as his enlistment follows the changes in the Military Manpower Administration’s regulations.
Previously, it has been reported that EXO was preparing for a comeback as a full group this year, but with Kai’s enlistment in a week, the plan has been disrupted, causing much regret.
