Cha Eun-woo surpasses Yoo Jae-seok and IU to top the list of stars who succeeded with their alternative jobs

Beating Yoo Jae-seok, IU, and Baek Jong-won, Cha Eun-woo, an actor and member of idol group ASTRO, ranked 1st in the list of stars who earned a lot with their alternative characters.

Mnet’s entertainment program “TMI NEWS SHOW”, which aired on June 1st, revealed the list of stars who succeeded with their secondary characters.

First, rapper Loco was named in 13th place. While everyone was curious about his second character, Loco revealed that he was the CEO of a homemade burger business. It is reported that he currently runs 3 burger stores in Hongdae, Sinsa and Apgujeong. Earning about 500 million won from his business, Loco is continuing to give warm through donation activities.

12th place went to rapper Mommy Son. Denying the rumor that he was Mad Clown, Mommy Son was found to make a net profit of about 60 million won by selling limited edition clothing products. He also started investing in Token NFT with 50 million won and gained about 980 million won within 12 hours of sales. In addition, the rapper also runs a burger business and its sales in 2019 alone were 380 million won. Surprisingly, he used nearly all of the income he received from his alternative jobs in donations.

Park Jae-beom (Jay Park) came in 6th place. He made headlines by becoming the CEO of a soju brand. On the first day of his store’s opening, 30,000 bottles were sold out. Sales from his soju business are known to have exceeded 1.79 billion won, surprising many people.

IU ranked No.5 on the list. IU is recognized as one of the best solo artists with amazing achievements. In fact, IU’s secondary character is a Youtuber with 7.5 million subscribers. IU, who has attracted more than 1.4 billion accumulative views, brings so much fun to fans through various music content. Earning 155 million won per month and 1.86 billion won per year, IU boasts the highest Youtube profit among celebrities.

The 4th place went to actor Son Seok-gu, who is drawing keen attention these days. He is known to be the CEO of a medium-sized manufacturing company in Daejeon. The sales revenue of Son Seok-gu’s company, which exports to more than 10 countries around the world, including the U.S and Canada, was estimated at 2.68 billion won as of 2021. Son Seok-gu holds 34.3% of the shares.

Chef Baek Jong-won entered the TOP 3 at 3rd place. He, who is known to receive 10 million won per episode of broadcasting, is estimated to have earned 850 million won in appearance fees by appearing as the main MC on broadcasts 85 times. In addition, Baek Jong-won also runs a cooking YouTube channel with 5.36 million subscribers, and its profit is estimated to be 520 million won. In 2021, his total appearance fee, YouTube income, and advertising revenue are estimated to be 2.87 billion won. In addition, Baek Jong-won also operates more than 20 restaurant franchises with 2,140 stores. He surprised everyone by revealing that the sales from his restaurants were about 176.5 billion won in 2021.

The 2nd place went to composer Don Spike. After setting up the BBQ restaurant business, he rapidly expanded the scope to open branches in Seoul, Busan and Chungnam. His annual sales from this are estimated to be 4.3 billion won. 

The long-awaited 1st place went to Cha Eun-woo, an actor and member of idol group ASTRO. Cha Eun-woo is famous among idols for his outstanding visual that gets him the nickname “Face genius”. He topped the list of handsome idols selected by idols themselves for three consecutive years. Since many female fans have been curious about his secondary character, it turns out to be acting.
