Brave Girls is celebrating their 7th anniversary this year.  Usually, idol groups sign a 7-year exclusive contract with their agency. Brave Girls and Brave Entertainment are having contract renewal issues this month. Fans want to keep the group. What’s happening within the group and the agency is not always positive.

Brave Girls debuted in 2016 as part of K-pop’s second generation. They did not receive attention until “Rollin’” climbed back up the charts. In fact, before the unexpected success of “Rollin’”, Brave Girls almost disbanded.

Brave Girls’ songs became popular and they did various activities. They released “Summer Queen” for summer and “Thank You” to express their gratitude to the fans.

Brave Entertainment’s sales also skyrocketed. According to the Financial Supervisory Service, Brave Entertainment recorded sales of 17.841 billion won last year. This is an increase of 1975.4% compared to the previous year.  Operating profit was 7.281 billion won. Considering that the previous year’s operating loss was 1.914 billion won, this figure is remarkable.

However, there is no news of renewal of Brave Girls’ contract. In addition to the contract renewal issue, fans have been criticizing the agency over their management of Brave Girls.

Recently, Brave Girls’ concert was canceled. This concert was supposed to be the first group activity in about a year and a half. Brave Girls stopped their music activities after Mnet’s “Queendom 2”. The concert in December of the same year was also not held in the aftermath of COVID-19.

The  spread of COVID-19 has been on the decline, but the concert is not being rescheduled, angering the fans. Fans even held a protest against the agency. Despite fans’ complaints, the agency is keeping their mouths shut.

At a time when promotions are needed, there has been no music from Brave Girls for over a year. Also, with their contract expiring in February, there are now rumors of disbandment.
