YG spoke about BIGBANG’s successful comeback after 4 years.
YG Entertainment recently expressed their thoughts on the achievements of BIGBANG during the group’s first comeback in 4 years with the single “Still Life”, saying:
“We’re overwhelmed. ‘Still Life’ reached 908,000 unique listeners in the first 24 hours on Melon, the country’s largest music streaming platform. This is the highest record since 2020 for a boy group and is in the Top 10 group songs with the highest 24-hour unique listeners in the history of Melon.
Looking at the demographic, listeners of ‘Still Life’ are split evenly between men and women with 56% of women and 44% of men in their 20s to 40s. This is a good result as it shows that the public has trust in our artist’s music.
In terms of music alone, BIGBANG is the group that has taken K-pop’s status a step further in the global front. Bold and unique color, and distinctive atmosphere with genres such as electronica, rock, R&B, and hip-hop, all prove BIGBANG’s presence in K-Pop.
Although there are many different opinions, BIGBANG will always be BIGBANG.”
