With 1 Episode Per Week & Frequent Delays, When Will “The Killing Vote” And “A Good Day To Be A Dog” End?

“The Killing Vote” and “A Good Day To Be A Dog” broadcasts continued to be delayed, causing frustration to viewers

SBS’s Thursday series “The Killing Vote” aired its first episode on August 10th in the middle of summer. However, it’s already mid-November and the drama has not yet ended.

“The Killing Vote” broadcasts were canceled for two weeks from September 28th to October 5th due to the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games. On November 2nd, it was delayed again because of the KT Wiz VS NC Dinos Game 3 of the 2023 KBO League Playoff. As such, many viewers complained that their immersion in the story was broken due to the frequent broadcast cancellations.

Many viewers expressed disappointment, such as “It released only 1 episode per week so I thought I would watch the drama after all the episodes are out, but it’s been like a decade and the drama has not ended”, “The drama has been canceled for so long. When is it going to end?”, “The flow got cut off due to the frequent cancellations”, “I realized the downside of airing only one drama episode a week”, “It airs only once a week and even gets canceled. That’s too much”, etc.

In fact, this delay also affected the ratings. The drama started off well with 4.1% in episode 1 but recently hit the lowest rating of 2.8%.

MBC’s Wednesday drama “A Good Day To Be A Dog” is also suffering the same situation.

A Good Day To Be A Dog

Released on October 11th, this drama will continue airing until mid-January next year. It couldn’t air as scheduled on October 25th due to the baseball semi-playoff Game 3, and got delayed again on November 8th for the broadcast of the 2023 KBO Korean Series Game 2.

Eventually, the production team confirmed that “A Good Day To Be A Dog” would broadcast episodes 5 and 6 consecutively on November 15th to repay viewers’ support. They said, “Please show much interest and love to the drama as Hae-na and Seo-won’s narratives will give a different excitement. I hope you enjoy watching 2 hours of the drama like a gift from us.”

Attention is focused on whether this new broadcasting strategy of “A Good Day To Be A Dog” will help it captivate viewers.
