Viviz, Soyou’s agency – BPM Entertainment is the one that prompts EXO Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin to sue SM?

The agency of MC Mong, BPM Entertainment, reportedly approaches and prompts EXO Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin to sue SM.

SM Entertainment has sent a statement of facts to Big Planet Made Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as BPM Entertainment), where MC Mong serves as an executive, regarding the unfair content of their exclusive contracts. This comes after EXO members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin raised concerns about the validity of their contracts.

According to a report by Ilgan Sports on June 1st, SM recently sent a statement of facts to Big Planet Made Entertainment, which is led by MC Mong as an executive. This was due to the observation that Big Planet Made Entertainment had approached the three EXO members, attempting to induce them into signing contracts with their company. Since most of the EXO members have already signed new contracts and started their activities, there is a possibility of dual-contract controversy. SM also addressed this issue in their statement of facts.

When asked by Ilgan Sports about the fact that they sent a statement of facts to Big Planet Made Entertainment, an SM representative confirmed this information. In response to the same inquiry, BPM Entertainment stated, “We will look into it.”

Meanwhile, the legal representatives of Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin issued a press release earlier in the day, stating that they had requested copies of settlement documents and supporting evidence due to the lack of transparency in the settlement details with SM. However, SM failed to do such a request. They also argued that the exclusive contracts with SM Entertainment can be considered “slave contracts”.

With the appointment of legal representatives, it is anticipated that legal disputes over the exclusive contracts with SM will arise in the future.

Baekhyun, Chen, and Xiumin, through their legal representatives, conveyed their intention to pursue legal actions due to differences in position with SM Entertainment, while emphasizing their commitment to finding wise solutions and resolving the dispute in a way that minimizes concerns for the fans.

In response, SM Entertainment promptly released an official statement, stating that external forces are inducing illegal acts to make their artists disregard exclusive contracts and enter into contracts with them, and they will not overlook such actions.

SM Entertainment emphasized that these attempts by external forces are clear illegal acts, as they seek to fuel conflicts between the company and the artists, as well as between the artists themselves, with hidden intentions of disrupting existing teams.

SM further emphasized that such attempts are not acceptable, as they fundamentally destroy the trust of fans who continuously send infinite love and support, and must not be forgiven for the sake of the healthy future of the K-pop industry as a whole.

On another note, BPM Entertainment is a company with MC Mong serving as an executive director and Park Jang Geun as the CEO. It is home to artists such as former NU’EST member Ren, Viviz, Soyou, Lee Mujin, Ha Sungwoon, and Huh Gak.
