The Weeknd feels “grateful” for “bumpy” ride on “The Idol” in spite of mounting criticisms

The Weeknd affirms he will push forward with “The Idol” despite criticisms leveled at him.

After “The Idol” wrapped up, The Weeknd celebrated the finale of the series with a post on Instagram containing a series of behind-the-scenes photos of the cast on set. The caption reads, “The finale. Grateful to share this moment with you all as the season comes to an end. Continue to push the vision no matter how bumpy the journey.”

The “bumpy journey” The “Blinding Lights” singer referred to was the outrageous reactions that audiences and critics have about the miniseries. Since the series was first aired, it has been criticized for a skewed view on women from the standpoint of a “toxic man.” The production team and cast were under fire, including the star and executive producer The Weeknd.

The actor’s reputation is severely damaged. The audience gradually loses interest in him and his artistic view. However, the singer is confident about “The Idol” and what he managed to put together for the series.

Previously, The Weeknd firmly stated that he foresaw viewers’ negative reactions, saying, “It’s almost educational that this is what comes with being incredibly famous. You’re surrounded by people who you’re not sure what their true intentions are, even if it seems like they’re good. You just never know.”
