The identity of the idol who threatened his ex-girlfriend with a weapon has been reported.
On August 19th, New Daily reported, “Nam Yoon-sung, a former member of boy group Noir, was legally punished for assaulting his ex-girlfriend.”
According to the media, Nam Yoon-sung broke into the house of his ex-girlfriend A in October last year because she refused to meet him. He threatened A with a weapon found in her house and forced her to continue meeting with him. Nam Yoon-sung put down the weapon at A’s request but reportedly strangled A when she insisted on refusing his request until the end.
Later, when the neighbor heard A’s scream and rang the doorbell, Nam Yoon-sung even threatened A and forced her to not tell the truth.
On August 19th, Kim Tae-kyun, a senior judge at the Seoul Central District Court, sentenced Nam Yoon-sung, who was indicted on charges of causing injuries, making special threats, and housebreaking, to one year in prison and two years in suspended prison. He was also ordered 1 year of probation and 80 hours of community service.
The court pointed out, “The victim seems to have suffered great shock and pain, and she has not yet forgiven the defendant”, adding “The sentence was decided after considering the fact that the defendant confessed his crime, that he appeared to have accidentally committed the crime, and that this was his first time since he had no criminal history”
Meanwhile, Nam Yoon-sung was born in 1996. He debuted as the lead vocalist and lead rapper of the boy group Noir in 2018 and gained popularity with his impressive height of 181 cm and amazing dance skills. He is currently active as an actor.
Nam Yoon-sung used to compete in “Produce 101 Season 2” as a trainee from Ione Entertainment. Expected to rise from F Class to C Class, he suddenly dropped out of the program due to health reasons.
Nam Yoon-sung’s agency has not revealed any position regarding the case.
