Song Joong Ki’s British girlfriend, said to be a non-celebrity, is actually an actress?

According to Song Joong Ki’s agency on December 26th, Song Joong Ki is currently dating a British non-celebrity. It is said that they met through an acquaintance a year prior, and that the girlfriend is not involved in the entertainment industry. 

However, netizens are raising speculations that Song Joong Ki’s girlfriend is the former British actress Katy Louise Sanders. 

In particular, on the same day Song Joong Ki’s dating rumor was spreaded, many articles were posted in online communities about clues related to his girlfriend. In addition, Saunders was known as Song Joong Ki’s personal English teacher. 

Also, it was pointed out that back in September, when Song Joong Ki won the grand prize at the APAN STAR AWARDS, he thanked “Katy, Nalla, Maya, and Anthes”. Here, Nalla is Song Joong Ki’s dog, while Maya and Anthes are known as dogs of Katy Louise Saunders. 

In addition, it was belatedly known that Song Joong Ki attended Saunders’ cousin’s wedding abroad.

Of course, as Saunders is Song Joong Ki’s personal English teacher, the two can have a personal friendship. Katy Louise Saunders was born in 1984 and is older than Song Joong Ki, who was born in 1985. In the past, she worked as an actress and is known for her appearances in films such as “Los Borgia” (2006), “Third Person” (2013) and “The Lizzie McGuire Movie” (2003). However, she is reportedly retired from acting with no new activities in a long while. 

Previously, Song Joong Ki was in a relationship with Song Hye Kyo, who he co-starred with in the 2017 hit K-drama “Descendants of the Sun”. However, the couple separated in 2019, and are walking on their own paths. 

Meanwhile, Song Joong Ki made his acting debut in 2008, and has since earned remarkable successes on both the big and small screens. His notable appearances include “A Werewolf Boy”, “The Battleship Island”, “Sungkyunkwan Scandal”, “Descendants of the Sun”, “Arthdal Chronicles”, “Vincenzo”, and most recently, “Reborn Rich”.
