Recently, a Google Search report shows the Top 10 Most Searched Korean Actresses in the first half of 2023. In this ranking, Song Hye Kyo only came in third although she was a buzz with “The Glory.” On the contrary, IU landed in the top spot without any outstandingly successful projects.

Some audience was perplexed by the results and started to question whether Song Hye Kyo’s fame was blown out of proportion. Nonetheless, others believed it was simply that IU was more famous among the youth; hence, she was mentioned more on social media, where young people often gush about their favorites. On the contrary, Song Hye Kyo has a stronger appeal to adults and traditional Korean media.

Following her divorce with Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo is subjected to nonstop scrutiny and malicious comments. Her private and professional lives were severely damaged by rumors. However, the actress broke through them and made a strong comeback with “The Glory.” It was more vindicative when the “Descendants of the Sun” actress was previously criticized for a stereotypical image on “Now, We’re Breaking Up.”
