Lee Do-hyun transforms into a shaman with tattoos all over his body in screen debut “Exhuma”

On Jan 25th, the occult mystery film “Exhuma” (directed by Jang Jae-hyun, produced by Showbox and Pinetown Production) released still cuts of actor Lee Do-hyun, who is about to make his screen debut as a rookie shaman.

Having demonstrated a strong presence with excellent character digestive power in various works, Lee Do-hyun is expected to showcase a bold transformation by portraying shaman Bong Gil in “Exhuma”.

Lee Do-hyun gained recognition for his outstanding acting skills through dramas such as “Prison Playbook”, “The Glory”, “The Good Bad Mother”, “Youth of May” and “Sweet Home”, solidifying his position as a leading actor. Particularly, debuting as a high school baseball player in “Prison Playbook”, Lee Do-hyun is now garnering attention for his role as Bong Gil in his debut film “Exhuma”, where he quits playing baseball after getting sick.

Bong Gil is a rookie shaman who accompanies shaman Hwarim (played by Kim Go-eun) after being saved by her from illness. Lee Do-hyun will showcase a new transformation never seen before with his visual adorned with tattoos and his appearance as a shaman.

Director Jang Jae-hyun expressed high expectations for Lee Do-hyun, “I think his synchronization with Bong Gil is about 180%. His modern appearance and charisma fit well with Bong Gil, creating a good synergy. Moreover, Lee Do-hyun has the incredible ability to complete very difficult scenes purely with his acting skills.”

Having prepared to enthral the audience, Lee Do-hyun is expected to captivate fans with his intense and bold charm in “Exhuma”.

“Exhuma” tells a strange story that occurs to a feng shui, a funeral director and a shaman who are paid to relocate a tomb. Starring Choi Min-sik, Kim Go-eun, Yoo Hae-jin and Lee Do-hyun, the film is directed by Jang Jae-hyun, known for “Svaha: The Sixth Finger” and “The Priests”. It is set to be released on Feb 22nd.

Meanwhile, Lee Do-hyun enlisted at the Air Force military band on Aug 14th last year.
