Lee Byung Hun suspected of tax evasion after 9 years of controversy over extramarital affair 

Lee Byung Hun was subjected to a special tax investigation and fined 100 million won.

According to a media outlet on February 28th, the National Tax Service conducted a special tax investigation against Lee Byung Hun and his agency BH Entertainment in September.

Unlike regular regular tax investigations, the National Tax Service conducts special tax investigations when there is suspicion of tax evasion by individuals or corporations.

In the process, a penalty of 100 million won was imposed on Lee Byung Hun. There is also a possibility that it is related to real estate investment using individuals and corporations.

Lee Byung Hun sealed the deal on a 10-story building in Yangpyeong-dong, Seoul in 2018 using his personal and corporate names and sold it in 2021, enjoying a market profit of about 10 billion won.

However, Lee Byung Hun’s agency explained, “It has nothing to do with tax evasion. It was caused by the timing of the deposit of advertising guarantee and the part where bonuses paid by the actor’s own expense were treated as company expenses.“

Previously, after Lee Byung Hun married actress Lee Min Jung, he was embroiled in a controversy over an affair and blackmail with former GLAM member Dahee.
