Kim Hyun Joong shared his wife is his first and last love + why he took a break from entertainment activities 

Kim Hyun Joong recently talked about his wife and his hiatus. 

Kim Hyun Joong, who tied the knot with his non-celebrity girlfriend earlier this year, was recently featured on a friend’s YouTube channel and answered questions about his personal life. 

Although Kim Hyun Joong didn’t hold a wedding ceremony due to the pandemic, he revealed that he had completed the marriage registration. The bride is Kim Hyun Joong’s first love, whom he met when he was in 7th grade at a blood sausage soup restaurant. They dated, broke up due to his busy life as a celebrity, and eventually got back together. He also mentioned that this love story was the inspiration for his “The Smile in Wine” MV. 

Also in the interview, Kim Hyun Joong opened up about his scandal with his ex-girlfriend and the reason why he stopped being active in Korea’s entertainment industry. He said that although both sides were wrong in the case, he was no longer uncomfortable appearing on TV and cracking jokes, because he was worried the public would criticize him. 

In 2014, Kim Hyun Joong got into a legal battle over accusations of physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, causing her to have a miscarriage, rib injury, bruising, etc. Even though he ended up winning the battle in court, his image was heavily affected, making it hard for him to resume activities. Recently, Kim Hyun Joong also reunited with SS501’s Heo Young Saeng to perform a song called “Same Old Story” as a gift to the group’s fans.
